The Heart of an Angel

My first novel, 'The Heart of an Angel', is a romance story set in medieval times. It took me three months to write and though I was nervous I was pleased and eager to write again when it was finished. Since this one, I've written three others.
When writing this I wanted to add some elements of humor, sometimes picking on romance books in general, other times trying to make light of a gory situation, but mostly it's about a young woman who must learn to adapt to a world which she's been thrown into and a man who must overcome his mistrust of women and work toward a brighter future.

Eighteen year old Mayla Devine grew up living a rough life. Her stepfather ruled with an iron hand and the marks on her back prove it. She’s never told anyone she’s the illegitimate child of a king, and her secret was well kept from the rest of the world. In an effort to escape one night, she finds her plans go terribly wrong. Her stepfather finds her hiding and threatens to kill her, but a mysterious knight appears and saves her.

Review below provided by Romancejunkies.com:

Damian Savane put too much trust in his beloved fiancĂ© and hasn’t felt a spark of interest for a woman. That is until now. He takes the rescued beauty to his brother’s palace and gives her a place to sleep, food to eat and a job to occupy her time. Damian knows his time is better spent finding the spies seeking to destroy their kingdom, but his mind drifts to the lonely woman he brought with him.

While Damian and his brother, King Murik, plan an ambush against King Leone, Leone is planning to capture Mayla with hopes of making her pay for his beloved brother’s death. In this chaotic world of mischief and secrecy, will Mayla be able to trust Damian to protect her life again?

I found this story to be an enjoyable read. The plot is full of action, keeping the reader on their toes and wondering what may happen next. Ms. LeBlanc created an interesting world full of suspense and intrigue. A good read for lovers of historical romance.
